Tabita Berglund has made history as the first Norwegian to be appointed principal guest conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, one of the highest-ranked orchestras in the United States. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Norwegian classical music on the global stage.

For the first time ever, a Norwegian was selected in the first round of the NHL Draft. On a historic Saturday in Las Vegas, Michael Brandsegg-Nygård was picked by the Detroit Red Wings, becoming the 15th overall selection.
